CENTRAL CENTRIFUGAL CICATRICIAL ALOPECIA Scarring alopecia, in particular Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia, is of great interest to me because there are so many unknown factors as to how and why it is caused.  The Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA) is said to affect African American women more than any other group of people.  With that said, I have tried to research this form of hair loss to find the commonalities in recent studies.

The Clinic

The Clinic is situated at 59 Piccadilly, Manchester and is approximately 5 minutes walk from Piccadilly Train Station and Piccadilly Metro Link Station. Our Consultation fee is £45.00. All follow up appointments or check-ups are FREE.

Clinic Treatments are priced at £22.50. These can be paid for individually. Therapy for certain problems is not always possible or required. Many problems will require a slight change of lifestyle or the elimination of a bad habit to assist their management.

Nutritional and dietary supplements are often suggested along with topical products. Certain therapies are carried out at the clinic, either on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, depending on the type and severity of the problem. Topical products are frequently suggested for home use, as well or in place of clinical therapy.

Electrotherapy such as ultra violet and infra-red therapy can be effective in combination with topical products.

When you book your first Consultation, you will be required to not wash your hair for at least 48 hours before your first visit, as shampooing can wash away some of the vital evidence needed to diagnose your problem. It is also useful to bring with you any herbal remedies and medication that you use on a regular basis.

During your consultation you will be asked questions about your health, diet, family history and how you care for your hair. Your hair and scalp will be closely examined and sometimes hair samples are taken for microscopic examination.

After a diagnosis and explanation of the problem, the best form of treatment or management will be suggested.

People visit this clinic for many different reasons, e.g. relief from various scalp conditions, treatment and advise about hair loss or simply to have their hair or scalp conditioned. Whatever their reason, we aim to significantly improve the health of their hair and scalp.
